Nursing Services

The Nursing Services team at Central York School District is made up of health professionals including certified school nurses, licensed practical nursesregistered nurses, and a physician consult.

Each school's health office is staffed to provide a wide variety of care and support, including first aid, prescribed medications, and the management of chronic conditions.

When to Keep Your Child Home

The nursing staff recommends that you keep your child home from school if they are exhibiting any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever of more than 100 degrees
  • Chills
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Abdominal pain
  • Rash
  • Itchy, red, watery eyes
  • Excessive coughing
  • Severe sore throat
  • Body aches
  • Enlarged glands
  • Excessive tiredness

Sending your child to school before he or she is completely well places them at risk for contracting other illnesses and also promotes the spread of illness to classmates and staff members.
