The North Hills PTO would like to welcome everyone to the new school year! 

Every parent or guardian of a North Hills student is considered a member of the PTO.  We invite you to become an active participant in our organization.  PTO has many exciting programs and activities planned for the 2016-2017 school year.  Since we do not require membership dues, we depend on parent volunteers, donations and our one and only fundraiser to help offset expenses.  Money collected directly benefits our students by providing field trips, skating party, track meet shirts, assemblies, the annual Memory Book and other fun programs and activities throughout the school year. 

Here are a few key dates for the first few months of the school year:

September 15th - Back to School Night 6:30-8:00

September 22nd – First PTO @ 6:00pm (All are welcome!  We will probably meet in the Library)

October 3-6 – Book Fair

October 3rd – Family Fun Night/Book Fair

October 20th – PTO meeting @ 6:00pm

November 2nd – Skating Party

November 4th – Cultural Heritage Day

November 10th – PTO meeting at 6:00pm

North Hills PTO Committees

Book Fair - Help provide Scholastic books to students and their families at a reduced cost . Volunteers are needed for two hour shifts during day time and evening hours in the month of October.

Community Outreach - Help give students the opportunity to donate items to different local charities during the school year. Volunteers are needed to collect and deliver the items.

Council Delegate – One representative from North Hills attends 5 meetings/year with delegates from all schools in Central York School District.

Central Scholars - Each year, a $1000 scholarship is awarded to CYHS senior who was a former North Hills Elementary student. Help is needed to review applications in April and complete student selections and announcements in May.

Fundraiser – This one fundraiser is the only source of income for our PTO and allows for the Memory Books, special assemblies, track t-shirts, field trips, 6th Grade Event, and much more.

Hospitality - Help coordinate volunteers and food items for special school events and teacher appreciation events at the school. Donations of food, beverages, and time may be requested by the chairperson throughout the year.

Memory Book - Help create a memory book for all the students to enjoy for years to come. Throughout the year volunteers are needed to get sponsorships, take pictures, and assist with online layouts so that each child can receive a book in June.

Rewards - Help the PTO to earn money for student activities at our school by promoting and collecting Box Tops for Education.

Class Party Volunteers - Help plan the fun! Organize a classroom party for the Cultural Heritage day in the fall and the Earth Day celebrations in the spring. Notify other parent volunteers of classroom needs for the games, crafts, and food.

School Store – Help run a low cost store full of fun school supplies for kids to purchase at school.

Spirit Wear - Help students show their school spirit. Be the school contact for the district approved vendor.  Ordering is done online and delivered to the schools for distribution.

Sunshine – A birthday card and gift card are purchased for each staff member on their birthday.

6th Grade Event - Help say 'goodbye' to the sixth graders by coordinating this special event at the end of the school year. Volunteers are needed to collect food donations and man the game/water stations throughout the school day.

The North Hills PTO meets each month to discuss and plan upcoming fundraisers, activities, and events to benefit the faculty, staff, and students of North Hills. Our North Hills PTO is also involved in coordinating the Scholastic Book Fair, School Store, Skating Party, Family Festival, classroom celebrations, and various other activies here at North Hills. Our dedicated volunteers also devote a tremendous amount of time to organizing and preparing the yearly Memory Book. We would like to thank all of our PTO members for their time and energy. If you are not currently a member of the PTO and would like to join, please contact the North Hills office. The PTO is always looking for members to help plan and participate in the many activities taking place around the school. We would like to invite everyone to take time from the their busy schedules to attend the PTO meetings and help in any way that you can.
